Capital Campaign
Family Service and Guidance Center's “Hearts Full of Hope Campaign” is raising funds with which FSGC will build the Child and Family Academy, 22,000-square foot, two-story facility designed for the provision of specialized mental health services to children from birth to age 6 and their families.

The Independent Living for Teenagers group is targeted to young adults, age 15 to 21, with various disabilities who are interested in becoming independent. This eight week program teaches skills which will assist them in an independent lifestyle.

Independent Living for Teens

-Empowering teens to manage tasks, find community resources
and daily life skills which are imperative for a successful life.

The Independent Living for Teenagers group is targeted to young adults, age 15 to 21, with various disabilities who are interested in becoming independent. This eight week program teaches skills which will assist them in an independent lifestyle.
This program works to develop an individual plan to meet his/her own needs for their transition into adult life. Each participant will be equipped with informal and formal contacts and resources as well as the knowledge to access these resources in their community. The providers will promote a positive, responsible leadership which will encourage clients to become positive role models withiin their communities.

The program curriculum is based on a client's individual plan and includes:

· Shopping and Meal Planning
· Cooking, Cleaning, & Home Safety
· Public & Private Transportation
· Personal Health
· Relationship Building
· Recreational Activities
· Information on Job Searches
· Interviewing Skills
