How to Help
Family Service & Guidance Center provides vitally important services to over 10,000 children and families each year. You can help to improve children's lives.
Volunteer
Family Service & Guidance Center has volunteer opportunities available for those who are interested in helping children and families. These opportunities include welcoming families to FSGC and providing activities for the children while they wait for appointments. Volunteer training is provided. All volunteers must pass KBI and Child Abuse Background checks. Call Ed Cullumber at 785/232-5005 for more information on how you can join our volunteers and provide a welcoming environment for our children and families.
Give a gift
Your contributions to FSGC directly benefit the children and families we serve. Several of the programs we provide, including our very popular Happy Bear program, our sibling support group, and our children’s art nights, are not billable to insurance but are incredibly important to the children in our community. Your gifts make what we do possible.

Attend our events
Family Service & Guidance Center hosts two events each year to raise much needed funds to provide services for the children we serve. Our Works of Heart event features the artwork of ten of FSGC’s most talented clients, in addition to the artwork of several incredibly generous professional artists. This heartwarming event focuses on the strengths and talents of the children we serve. Those in attendance have the opportunity to meet our featured artists during a reception, visit with them over dinner and experience their joy as their pieces are auctioned off. What an incredible and confidence building experience for the children we serve! Our next Works of Heart event will be held Friday, August 22nd, 2008.
FSGC Days at the Outback Steakhouse has become a tradition. Enjoy a fantastic Outback Steakhouse lunch and check out our raffle baskets. And all proceeds benefit the children of Family Service & Guidance Center. The 12th annual FSGC Days will be held November 6th & 7th, 2008.
