Capital Campaign
Family Service and Guidance Center's “Hearts Full of Hope Campaign” is raising funds with which FSGC will build the Child and Family Academy, 22,000-square foot, two-story facility designed for the provision of specialized mental health services to children from birth to age 6 and their families.

Independent Living!
The Independent Living for Teenagers group is targeted to young adults, age 15 to 21, with various disabilities who are interested in becoming independent. This eight week program teaches skills which will assist them in an independent lifestyle.

Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP)

Our Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) focuses on children 0 to 6 years old.

The Preschool Development Center focuses on children ages 2 1/2 to 5 years who are experiencing a severe emotional disturbance. The preschool program consists of psychosocial group as well as regular preschool activities. It is licensed for childcare to accommodate children who need specialized care so their parents can work or go to school.

The Kindergarten groups focus on children ages 4 to 6 who have a severe emotional disburbance. These are also psycosocial treatment groups. The children in these groups attend kindergarten or preschool within the school system for a half day.

Children in these groups may also be involved in family therapy, individual play therapy, group therapy, medication management, and case management. Parenting groups are also available.

Services for children younger than 2 1/2 are also available ton an individual basis according to the needs of the child and family.

The treatment process for children in groups consists of three major components:

  • Group psychotherapy where skill discovery occurs

  • Psychoeducation where skill development is enhanced

  • Therapeutic recreation where practice of newly developed skills occur
