Child & Family Academy now open
Grateful speeches, the beat of a drum line and the sounds of happy preschoolers highlighted the April 16 grand opening of Family Service & Guidance Center's new Child & Family Academy building.
"This is an historic day for children and families in Northeast Kansas," FSGC CEO Brenda Mills said. "This beautiful new 22,000-square foot facility will ensure that Family Service & Guidance Center will continue to improve the lives of over-10,000 children and families each year."
Mills was joined by FSGC board president Julie DeJean and capital campaign chair Steven Cardwell is extending thanks to the over-200 donors who made the dream of the new state-of-the-art Academy building a reality.
"This grand opening means that Family Service & Guidance Center will be building healthier, happier families and safer, stronger communities for a long time to come," said DeJean.
Entertainment for the afternoon was provided by the Topeka High School Marching Trojans Drum Line. After the ceremony, those attending were taken on guided tours by FSGC staff.
