2020 “Making a Difference” recipients recognized

FSGC has announced the winners of the 2020 “Making a Difference” Award, given for providing direct therapeutic services or administrative support that helps northeast Kansas children living with anxiety, depression, ADHD and other mental health issues and their families.

The 2020 winners are:

  • Drew Belanger – Clinical Staff
  • Sarah Bubna – Case Manager/Care Coordinator
  • Romie Chavez – Supervisory Staff
  • Lacey Clark – Mental Health Specialist
  • Sylvia Hollis – Support Staff
  • Joshua Smart – Attendant Care Provider

Brenda Mills, CEO, said, “Every FSGC staff member is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the kids and families we serve. Each year, however, a handful of staff members are nominated by their co-workers because they provide service that consistently exceeds expectations. From those nominations, our ‘Making a Difference’ Award recipients are selected.”

Awards are presented in six staff categories each year. A committee of FSGC staff members representing all areas of the agency reviewed nominations.

Recipients of the award are selected for effectiveness in their work with children, families and co-workers; zeal in promoting the advancement of mental health; and professional interest and involvement.
