Works of Heart 2021 will be in-person and online

You’re invited to enjoy Family Service & Guidance Center’s 15th annual Works of Heart Event your way!

This year’s edition of FSGC’s signature fundraiser will be held on Friday, August 13, at the Maner Conference Centre. A limited-capacity in-person event featuring food, beverages, live music and an exciting live auction of pieces created by our 2021 Works of Heart Featured Artists — all FSGC clients — will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p.m. The program and live auction will begin at 7:30 p.m.

You can also enjoy the Works of Heart livestream in the comfort of your own home. A virtual social hour with musical entertainment will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the program and live auction at 7:30 p.m.

“Vaccination numbers are going up and restrictions are easing, and folks are eager for a live event,” said Pam Evans, FSGC Director of Marketing & Development. “We will limit attendance to about 275 instead of the usual 400. Tables will be spread out and there will be plenty of hand sanitizer.”

Evans added that precautions will be taken to keep the 13 young Featured Artists healthy.

“We’ll still have a ‘meet-and-greet’ so bidders can get to know the kids, but we’ll maintain social distancing and there will be a barrier between the guests and the kids,” she explained.

In-person and online guests can bid on silent auction items including professional paintings and photos, beautiful home décor, handcrafted jewelry, pottery, unique experiences and much more. Money raised will help provide mental health care to thousands of northeast Kansas children and teens living with anxiety, depression, ADHD and other mental health issues.

Silent auction bidding on the silent auction will open up Friday, July 30, and will be conducted entirely via mobile bidding.

The 10 live auction items created by FSGC client kids can only be bid on by guests in attendance at the live event; however, livestream viewers may arrange for bidding by proxy. To arrange for a proxy bidder, contact Jim Williamson at jwilliamson@fsgctopeka.com or 785.270.8907.

A limited number of tickets for the live event will go on sale in early July. Registration for the livestream will also begin in early July. Watch FSGC’s Facebook page (facebook.com/fsgctopeka) for the latest Works of Heart news!
