Thanks to the generosity of staff members from across the organization, a recent Family Service & Guidance Center Internal Fund Drive raised $9,531.65.
“It’s always wonderful to see so many people stepping up and making a gift to help our kids as well as their co-workers,” said Jancy Pettit, marketing coordinator and coordinator of the fund drive.
For three weeks each spring, FSGC staff members are asked to consider making a gift back to the agency, either in the form of a regular payroll deduction or a one-time gift. Donors can choose whether they want their gift to go to the FSGC Foundation or to the organization’s Internal Grant Program. Donors were entered into weekly drawings for prizes from local businesses Cashmere Popcorn, PT’s Coffee and Hazel Hill Chocolates. At the conclusion of the drive, donors could also win valuable items like tickets for FSGC’s Works of Heart Event, a day off with pay or a reserved parking space.
Donors earmarked $6,094.41 to the FSGC Foundation which was established in 2009 to help enhance FSGC’s financial strength in the face of uncertain economic and political times.
The remaining $3,437.24 was designated for the FSGC Internal Grant Program. Any staff member can complete an Internal Grant request for funds with which they can purchase needed items that could not be included in their program budget. The next request for proposals will go out in the fall.
Brenda Mills, CEO, said, “I know it’s not always easy to make a gift. That’s why I’m so appreciative of those staff members who chose to do so, especially now, when the need is so great. Knowing they are making a financial commitment to FSGC means a great deal.”
