FSGC raises nearly $16,000 at Topeka Gives

The 5th annual Topeka Gives event was truly a celebration of giving.

And the June 6 event gave FSGC plenty to celebrate.

FSGC supporters helped the organization raise $15,907 that day: $14,430 in donations and $1,477 in match money from the Topeka Community Foundation.

Pam Evans, Director of Marketing & Development, said, “It’s always great to see such a wonderful show of generosity – not only from FSGC supporters but from hundreds of Topekans who are supporting causes that they believe in.”

More than 160 nonprofit organizations participated in this year’s Topeka Gives event at Fairlawn Plaza Mall. Supporters made contributions to their favorite nonprofits, and the first $1,000 of each gift leveraged a match from an $83,000 pool donated by Topeka Community Foundation donors. This year, a $100 gift leveraged an additional $17 in match money.

Evans said, “Our need has never been greater, so it’s inspiring to see the community respond in such a kindhearted way.”
